Siesta Key Area Real Estate & Realtor Information
Unsurpassed Living in Siesta Key
Siesta Key is a jewel of a barrier island on Florida’s west coast, bordered by the azure waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Roberts Bay. Connected to Sarasota by two bridges, Siesta Key is renowned for beautiful white sand beaches and has eight miles of world famous waterfront property, with canals that wind through many of Siesta Key’s neighborhoods. Real estate on Siesta Key includes private islands, large estates, condominiums, gated neighborhoods and single family homes. You can own your own dock or live in a condo located around a full-service marina.
North Siesta Key
Bay Village, Roberts Point and Somerset Cove/Hamilton Club are the neighborhoods most conveniently located near the Siesta Drive bridge to downtown Sarasota. Multi-million dollar estates mingle with “Old Florida” beach cottages, and residential options include condominiums and single family homes. Home prices "usually" start in the low $500's, while building lots, if you can find any, go for around $300,000 - $400,000.
Siesta Key Village Area
Siesta Key Village is located in the widest part of the island. The Village, a largely pedestrian area, has shops, restaurants and local businesses. This area offers canal-front properties, condominiums, and homes from classic to modern design in Harmony, Siesta Manor, Sara Sand, Siesta Isles, and Siesta Estates neighborhoods. Hidden Harbor and Siesta Cove are located on the bay, while Sandy Hook is situated on the Gulf. While waterfront properties are pricier, building lots more centrally located can range from $350,000 to $500k, and single family homes can be purchased in the mid-500's.
South of the Siesta Key Village area, the island becomes a thin finger of land that has the some of most prestigious neighborhoods. It is less congested and boasts mature trees and lush, tropical foliage. Point Of Rocks, located on the Gulf side, is at the South end of Crescent Beach. Due to the costal rock formations, it is legendary for fishing and snorkeling. It is also rumored to have buried pirate treasure. On Roberts Bay, Point Crisp features large waterfront estates, while the Sanderling Club, which began as a winter resort, is a membership-based community that boasts charming cabanas designed by famed Sarasota architect, Paul Rudolph. Lots are available from the $400's and homes can range from the mid-500's to multi-millions.
South Siesta Key
The southern-most neighborhoods are near Turtle Beach Park, named for the sea turtles that nest there. Turtle Beach Estates features neighborhoods of condominiums and single family homes designed to blend in with their tropical setting. Homes in this neighborhood usually start at one million and up.
For people who are looking for a winter getaway, a retirement destination, or a permanent home, Siesta Key offers something for everyone. With water sports, fishing, shopping, dining, night life, and miles of waterfront beaches, it is an ideal setting for people who enjoy moderate tropical temperatures and the outdoor life. Home to a thriving artist community, it is also conveniently located to Sarasota theatres and museums. With all it has to offer, it is a quiet and peaceful retreat from the more hectic life on the mainland.
From gated communities to golf course settings... Sarasota's Siesta Key has it all.
